Minions is an old age mining hamlet on the edge of Bodmin Moor, it is surrounded by ruins of a bygone age: Old engine houses, mine shafts, quarries and the famous Cheesewring rock formation. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty in the heart of the Cornish countryside with absolutely beautiful views over to Dartmoor a short distance from the cottage. Outside the hamlet is Caradon Hill which is 1600ft above sea level, giving panoramic views of Plymouth, Ramehead down to St. Austell bay and on a clear day you can see the Satellite dishes at Goonhilly, some 47 miles distance/ Naturally this is a very popular area for archaeologists, walkers and cyclists, with easy access to the quiet country lanes. |
